Board of Directors

Lou Hayden

Lou Hayden is a ceili dance caller, Irish set dancer & event organiser originally from the UK. She loves to sing and is learning fiddle, guitar and English concertina. She has been attending Comhaltas and Irish cultural events for more than 30 years and first joined during her college years in Hull, Humberside, UK. She was a co-founder of SudburyFolkTrad, a group which was set up to host traditional music and dance events in the area until 2022. SudburyFolkTrad now mostly helps support other local music organisations and publicises local events.

Audrey O’Brien

Audrey O’Brien has called N’Swakamok/Sudbury ‘home’ for 12 years. She is a lover of all art forms that spark community connections and self-expression. She has supported and coordinated projects in grassroots mental health, as a visual artist, and in the college system. She dances a variety of styles including tap, and loves connecting to her Irish heritage through local seasonal ceilis

Scott Florence

Scott Florence is a social justice warrior by day, and a performing artist by night. His work as an actor, director, and clown has taken him as far north as Yellowknife, as far south as St. Pete’s, Florida, as far west as Victoria and as far east as Nanjing, China.  He is one half of oddhawks, a Sudbury based performance company. With oddhawks, he curated The Letters Project, and runs the bi-weekly improv jams at the Sudbury Indie Cinema. 

Alex Caverson

Alex is a long standing Sudbury Irish Arts Association board member whose family has been actively involved for many years. She participated in the Sudbury Irish set dance teacher program and her sister teaches Irish Step dance.

Karly Schofield

Karly Schofield a flute player with Sudbury Symphony Orchestra and a flute and fiddle teacher. She has performed in ensembles for traditional and chamber groups. Karly is passionate about Irish tunes and has been hosting the weekly ‘Sudbury Tune Sessions’ for many years.

Paula Truskoski

Paula Majury Truskoski grew up in the Chicago area before returning home to Canada in the early 90's. She has participated in the Comhaltas organization for several years and is passionate about Irish music and culture. Retired from the dental field, this active grandmother of three enjoys golf, genealogy,  guitar and spending time with family. Paula is a ceili dancer and Irish set dancer.

Daniel Caza

Daniel Caza is learning the Irish uilleann pipes, tin whistle and Irish flute having had past experience with the Highland bagpipes. Born and raised in Northern Ontario, he is excited to learn more about music, culture and history. He loves to attend traditional music sessions and make videos for YouTube at home.
